JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Polymer Chemist Engineer will lead the development of new elastomeric and adhesives materials, ensuring alignment with industry and customer needs. The Incumbent will provide expertise to Research & Development and Manufacturing efforts by collaborating cross functionally on all new product development programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead new product development from ideation to commercial launch in elastomers and adhesive materials used in electronics device handling and Test applications.
- Prepare and deliver technology presentations at conferences and customers.
- Collaboration and formal communication with other departments, stakeholders and customers.
- Assist with existing products, raw material selection, product formulation and solving production issues.
- Performs other duties or responsibilities assigned over the course of employment.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
M.S. in polymer chemistry/ engineering or related field with minimum ten years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proven track record of developing commercial products and technologies
Strong understanding of elastomer or adhesives and relevant manufacturing processes
In-depth expertise in metrologies including rheology, thermal analysis, chromatography and mechanical testing
Previous exposure to roll to roll coating or extrusion manufacturing methods a plus
Previous exposure of abrasives and related products a plus
Some background in QMS, SPC and other quality/manufacturing controls a plus
